OAKLANDS RV PARK

Public BBQ

A good free overnight camp at Oaklands on a tarred area with water available and a barbecue under shelter. There are no toilets on site - the nearest are a hundred metres or so away in the main street - and the pool right next door does not open its facilities to campers, which is the one frustration people raise. It is quiet, and the general store, pub and a friendly RSL and bowls club are a few minutes' walk, though the takeaway, pub and club all open in the afternoons only. The roses in the park are stunning in spring, with red Gallipoli roses in abundance come October.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
